چکیده

Aims: To provide a comprehensive summary of what has been published about the effects calcium carbide (CaC2) as fruit-ripening agent and to determine necessity or not develop awareness among government agencies, policymakers, farmers, vendors, scientists in order best address different aspects artificial fruit ripening issues more profitable solutions for global health preservation.
Methodology: Scientific information CaC2 elsewhere was reviewed. Online databases scientific journals which include Wiley Library, Science Direct, PubMed, CAS, CABI, AJOL Google Scholar were used select valuable studies.
Results: Most studies have reported hazardous potential agent. Among other that discovered through laboratory investigations are adulteration nutritional values ripened fruits direct indirect toxicity studied living systems such genotoxicity cytotoxicity dividing cells, increase cellular oxidative stress, disturbance redox balance cell, estrogenic disruptions, white blood cells Lymphocytes, alteration hematopoiesis, sperm decrease fertility rate, weakness immune system, etc.).
Conclusion: Overall, this review provides on is known showed discourage its application an establishment laws regulations better control use most developing countries.

Effects of Diluted Ethylene Glycol as A Fruit-Ripening Agent

The purpose of this project was to find out if the agent ethylene glycol, when diluted, can ripen various fruits faster than the regular ripening rate of the fruits, in colder climactic conditions. The materials for the experiment were basically fruits, containers, ethylene glycol and water. The ethylene, at first, was combined with the water. The fruits were placed in open containers and a set...

Fruit development and ripening

Fruiting structures in the angiosperms range from completely dry to highly fleshy organs and provide many of our major crop products, including grains. In the model plant Arabidopsis, which has dry fruits, a high-level regulatory network of transcription factors controlling fruit development has been revealed. Studies on rare nonripening mutations in tomato, a model for fleshy fruits, have prov...

Ripening Fruit and Abscising

Two structurally divergent endo-p-l,Cglucanase (EGase) cDNAs were cloned from tomato. Although both cDNAs (Cell and Ce12) encode potentially glycosylated, basic proteins of 51 to 53 kD and possess multiple amino acid domains conserved in both plant and microbial EGases, Cell and Ce12 exhibit only 50% amino acid identity at the overall sequence level. Amino acid sequence comparisons to other pla...

Effect of salinity on tomato fruit ripening.

Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill) plants from various cultivars growing on half-strength Hoagland solution were exposed at anthesis to 3 or 6 grams per liter NaCl. Salinity shortened the time of fruit development by 4 to 15%. Fruits of salt-treated plants were smaller and tasted better than did fruits of control plants. This result was obtained both for ripe fruits tested on the day of pick...

Regulation of tomato fruit ripening

Fruit ripening is a sophisticatedly orchestrated developmental process, unique to plants, that results in major physiological and metabolic changes, ultimately leading to fruit decay and seed dispersal. Because of their strong impact on fruit nutritional and sensory qualities, the ripeningassociated changes have been a matter of sustained investigation aiming at unravelling the molecular and ge...
